Stephanie Tabb @ Art & Music Library Gallery

I invite you all to my opening reception for my Studio Art Senior Thesis Exhibition, Constructing Negative Space. It will be held this Wednesday, April 6, from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Gallery at the Art & Music Library.  Refreshments will be provided.  Your presence will be greatly appreciated and feel free to bring friends along!

The exhibit explores the relationship between simple shapes and complex structures through photography and film.  The show will be up through Saturday, April 9, so be sure to check it out if you can’t make it to the reception.

Hope to see you this Wednesday!

Markings Mehods and Materials

Markings Methods and Materials is one of those great courses at Sage that introduces students to a variety of techniques (markings), concepts (methods) and media (materials).  Occasionally the Visual and Cultural Studies Graduate Student- Izul – finds himself helping students in unexpected ways.

Introductory Drawing in ASIS Gallery

The Intro Drawing class has some great work up BUT only until Monday.  If you have time to stop down and give it a look!

17 seniors, 1 mini renovation and 3 new instructors

Wow.  This year semester is going to be great.  Senior shows begin soon at the Art & Music Library Gallery and student exhibitions open at the Hungerford in a month.  Sage had a mini upgrade to the wood and metal shops which are nicer and safer.  Welcome to new adjunct instructors, Jason Bernagozzi (Adv 3D: Installation and Sound), Victor Pancheo (Intro 3D) and Janet Winkie (Intro Drawing).  Art New York is off to a great start.  The Art & Art History Undergraduate Council’s SEEN lectures are promoting an interesting dialogue about art on campus.  U of R filmmakers are off to screen A Prophet at the Dryden Tuesday at 8PM with instructor Neal Dhand (more information at http://dryden.eastmanhouse.org/films/2010/07/a-prophet/).  For those of you who follow this blog – expect weekly updates in the future.  If you have any images or events you want featured to this blog, send them to me at: sashenfe@mail.rochester.edu.
